Rap Is Alive Pt. 16: Fred The Godson

Fred aus der Bronx hat in einem seiner ersten Interviews klar gestatet, dass für ihn nur die Lyrics in der alten Tradition von etwa Rakim oder in der neueren von Jadakiss oder Royce Da 5’9″ zählen. Auf seinem zweiten Mixtape „Big Bronx“ funktioniert das schon ziemlich gut, auch wenn man dem Tape vor allem beatwise das kleine Budget und den Newcomerstatus anhört. Fred kann aber bereits jetzt mit einem absolut eigenständigen Rapstyle glänzen. Am Anfang geht die weinerliche Stimme auf den Zeiger, mit der Zeit kommen seine tränenerstickten Gangstertales aber verdammt cool.
Auf jeden Fall solltet ihr euch die beiden besten Tracks des Tapes plus sein neuestes Video (inkl. MP3) reinpfeifen. Besonders der Track mit seiner Posse ist murder (der dritte Rapper namens Hollow Da Don reisst alles ab!!).
